Metro Tonquin Ecological Assessment

Location:

Tualatin, OR

Client:

Metro

ES&A team, working with Metro Regional Government, conducted a large-scale ecological assessment of the Tonquin Oak Woodlands Target Area (TOWTA), one of twenty-four target areas identified in the 2019 parks and nature bond measure as containing natural resources significant within the region.
The assessment included an in-depth synthesis of existing information about the region's ecology, data analysis for permeability of habitat corridors throughout the area, several site visits to gather photos of unique or representative natural resources, and finally, a recommendation for the final boundary of the target area.
The final TOWTA Ecological Assessment report was provided to Metro staff. It will serve as the basis for future land acquisitions as part of the protect and restore land program area of the 2019 parks and nature bond measure.
